Arlene Adie -

Executive Director

I grew up in Ashcroft, where my parents still reside, I am proud mother to four grown children and grandmother to one ( with another set to arrive late August).

I have had the honour and privilege of serving the communities of Stswecemc/Xgat'temc, Tsq'escen, Xats'ull, and T'exelc since January 2007. As the Executive Director I report to the Board of Directors and am responsible for the day to day operations of the Society including the recruitment and retention of qualified staff, negotiating agreements and funding arrangements, and overseeing all program and service delivery departments. 

Crystal McDermott -

Social Worker

My name is Crystal McDermott and I am a Social Worker at Knucwentwecw Society.  I am proud of my last name that I carry which comes from Ireland and my first name which comes from the Chilcotin.  My father is Plains Cree and Irish from Northern Alberta, and my Mother is Chilcotin and Scottish from Chezacut, B.C.  I believe the Creator gave us the gift of children to teach us.  My three children have taught me the importance of laughter, appreciation, and balance.

My role as a Social Worker is to protect children and support families through service and referrals.  It is my honor to be working with the Secwepemc communities.   I believe children, individuals, families, communities, and the Secwepecmc Culture have their own strengths.  As a Social Worker it is my role to build on those strengths and to help our families succeed in their goals.

Deanna Alstrom -

Payroll Clerk

Accounts Payable: Weekly processing of all approved invoices, cheque requisitions, travel claims, etc. and distribution of payments.

Payroll: processing of bi-weekly payroll. Maintain all personnel records including employee monthly timesheets, maintenance of all leave accruals, and leave summaries for Audit at year end, monthly remittance of mandatory P/R deductions to revenue Canada and Annual T4’s and T4 Summary

Health/Pension Administrator:  Ensure new employees are signed up for health and dental and Pension benefits in a timely manner and set their deductions up in payroll, assist them where possible or refer them to many nations Representative Denis Aubrey. Ensure termination of benefits for employees who leave Knucentwecw Society Employ.

Assist Auditors and Finance Supervisor with general A/P and P/R questions and research, etc.

Jennifer Frank -

Social Worker

My name is Jennifer Frank and I am a child protection social worker. I am a new worker at KS and excited to have the opportunity to work with Shuswap families from the four communities that we serve. I will start my delegation training in May. I have been working with the social workers in different areas and I am enjoying it immensely. We provide support to families, foster care, and child and youth development. We want to empower parents, guardians, caregivers and others to take actions that contribute to holistic health, promoting self care, and the creation of formal and informal support social support networks. I would like to see communities strengthen their identity as accountable, healthy individuals. We work toward the intention of keeping children with their families and believe in the value of working within the Shuswap culture.

Jo-Ann Ronnenkamp -

Case Management Supervisor

I am honored to work for Knucwentwecw Society in ensuring the highest standards of service delivery to our member community clients.  My primary role is to provide consultation and guidance for our Delegated Social Workers to assist families by providing Family Support Services and Child Protection Services. 

I bring 25 years of parenting experience along with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Child and Youth Care and seven years experience in Child Protection Social work with The Ministry of Child and Family Development to this challenging position.  Thank you.

Karen Harry -

Finance Supervisor

My Job Title is Finance Manager.  My job consists of

-Reconciling bank and investment accounts

- Preparing all month end entries - General Ledger

-Preparing Monthly Financial Statements and presenting to the Board of Directors and Executive Director.

-Ensuring compliance with the Finance Policy

- Preparing all supporting information for the Annual audit and liaise with the Auditor as necessary.

- Maintains general ledger and A/R and oversees accounts payable,  and payroll.

-Reconciles A/P and A/R

-Reconcile GST and claim rebate from CCRA

-Prepares budgets in consultation with Executive Director and the Board of Directors 

- Documents and maintains complete and correct supporting information for all financial transactions

-Maintains Petty cash

-Ensures that our Accounting Program is properly maintained

-Supervise the A/P P/R Clerk

-Provides relief for A/P P/R Clerk and Reception when required

- Oversees the Management of all lease, contracts and other financial Equipment

- Ensures that all Capital Assets are Properly recorded.

- Advises on appropriate technology that meets the Financial Department's needs.

-Renews yearly insurance coverage after consultation with Executive Director

Suzanna Stobie -

Data Entry Clerk

As part of the Administrative team I  am your Data Entry Clerk at Knucwentwecw Society. I am a community member of the Williams Lake Indian Band. And have been with Knucwentwecw Society since March 2007 and feel it is a privilege to work for our Four Northern Shuswap Bands.

This past year very CS file was updated and FS files were created. This process improved our filing process. I also gather information for reports which are due to INAC on a monthly and quarterly basis.

In summary, we are a hard working team and each has our own roles. I hope your family is well and safe.

Social Worker

Social Worker for Knucwentwecw Society.  My job is to provide intervention and support to families in their time of need.

Yvonne Hare -

Aboriginal Family Group Conference Coordinator

My name is Yvonne Hare and I am the Aboriginal Family Group Conference Coordinator for Knucwentwecw Society.  I grew up in Alexis Creek, West of Williams Lake and I am a member of the Trondek Hwech’in Band in the Yukon Territories.  I am honored to have the opportunity to work with the Secwepemc communities.  I have three sons and I am also raising my nephew, I am proud to say that my children’s grand mother was a  Secwepemc woman.  Being the youngest of twelve children and now raising my own children family is a very big part of my life.

 My role with Knucwentwecw Society is to help families and communities come together in a traditional circle so they can develop plans for the safety and well being of their children.  I am also the resource social worker for Knucwentwecw Society; with this position my role is to ensure that the we are able to provide the best possible foster homes to the families and communities that we serve.

Carol Archie -

Administrative Assistant

Weytk! Le7 te sitqt! The title I hold here at the Knucwentwecw Society is Administrative Assistant. I maintain the up keep of our administrative department from greeting everyone who walks through our door and over the phone with a smile to faxing/photocopying for my co-workers. I also assist my co-workers with projects they may need help with.

We have a great team here at Knucwentwecw Society. We all enjoy a good laugh, we all have the same goal to keep our families together and we each have our own skills to contribute to keeping our highest standards for our society.

Amy Sandy and Dorothy Phillips -

Social Worker

My name is Dorothy Phillips from the Soda Creek Band.  I am Chilcotin, and I have lived at Soda Creek for 34 Years.  I have worked with Knucwentwecw Society since June 25, 2007.  My position at Knucwentwecew is Child Protection Social Worker. I work directly with the Canim Lake Band.  I work in Child Protection on investigations and assessments and deal with incidents of child abuse and neglect.  My job as Child Protection social worker is to provide direct services to children and their families with the emphasis that Child Safety and Well-being are administered in our practice.  As Child Protection Social Workers, we are guided by the Child, Family and Community Service Act and the Aboriginal Operational and Practice Standards and  Indicators.
